At Southern Comfort Shepherds, raising German Shepherds is not simply what we do — it’s who we are as a family.
For more than 20 years, Maree has poured her heart, patience, and calm presence into every dog she’s raised. That connection shapes everything about our program: how we care for our dogs, how we support new families, and how each puppy enters the world — gently, thoughtfully, and with steady guidance.

Our Shepherds are raised beside us in our day-to-day life: walking the property, hiking the trails, training together, and resting together. Ranger, Rain, Thor, Bella, and Alita aren’t kennel dogs — they are trusted companions who live in our home and are woven into the rhythm of our family.

When a litter arrives, new families can follow their journey week by week through our transparent “Puppy Watch” videos. You see every milestone — socialization, temperament shaping, early training foundations — giving you complete clarity and confidence about how your puppy is being raised.

Our lines come from proven DDR and Old-Fashioned bloodlines, selected for stability, working heritage, and heart.

Every puppy is raised with individual attention from birth to eight weeks — held, nurtured, monitored, and guided gently. Our foundation dogs are health tested, genetically clear, and part of our life in every meaningful way.

When you bring home a Southern Comfort Shepherd puppy, you're not just adding a dog — you're joining our extended family.

Puppy Nursery – From First Breath to Week Four

 From the moment Rain delivers her puppies, Maree is by their side — monitoring breathing, warmth, nursing, and early milestones hour by hour.
Our nursery and whelping room are quiet, clean spaces where stability and gentle handling come first. By the end of Week 4, puppies are already building trust, security, and early confidence.

After a phone conversation confirms a good match and puppies are born and counted, a $500 deposit reserves your puppy. Our focus is always on health, structure, and calm, steady temperament.

The PAW CLUB

 The Paw Club is our dogs’ private playground — part fun, part adventure park, and all heart. Designed so our German Shepherds can run, climb, explore, and just be dogs, it’s the kind of place you dream of building as a kid. The Paw Club lives in our dogs’ hearts, and in the memories they make here with the families who come to visit.
