Week 8 German Shepherd puppies – family-raised in Florida – early socialization, confidence building, and temperament-focused upbringing at Southern Comfort Shepherds.
Week 7 German Shepherd puppies are showing exceptional responsiveness and confidence as they explore the outdoors. Each puppy is introduced individually so families can see their markings, structure, and personality.
You’ll also see the puppies demonstrating early recall as they follow Maree as a pack, gather when called, and remain highly people-focused.
Week 6 German Shepherd puppies are fast, confident, and full of personality as they race around the yard in this high-energy outdoor session. You’ll see littermates chasing, playing, and testing their speed.
These run-and-play moments help build coordination, stamina, and awareness — part of how Southern Comfort Shepherds raises well-balanced German Shepherd puppies in Florida.
Week 5 German Shepherd puppies enjoy their first outdoor adventures.
These early experiences help strengthen confidence, curiosity, and resilience — foundation traits in every Southern Comfort Shepherds puppy.
This is when their personalities truly bloom and begin gentle, natural exposure to the world beyond the nursery.
Week 4 German Shepherd puppies are becoming more mobile, curious, and expressive as they begin discovering their world inside our calm, nurturing Florida whelping room. Their playful personalities start shining through while we continue gentle handling, confidence-building, and early socialization at Southern Comfort Shepherds.
Week 3 German Shepherd puppies – eyes open, mobility improving, and early bonding beginning in our calm, nurturing Florida whelping room at Southern Comfort Shepherds.
How Our Puppies Are Raised
Our German Shepherd puppies begin life
in our dedicated nursery and
whelping room in Summerfield, Florida,
where warmth, safety, and calm handling come first.
We carefully track weights, growth,
and early milestones for each puppy,
sharing photos and updates so families
can follow their journey
from the quiet newborn days
into the playful curiosity of Weeks Three and Four.
Each puppy is raised to develop steady nerves,
clear-headed temperament, and strong family bonding.
By the time your puppy is ready to go home,
they have been loved, handled,
and gently introduced to new sights,
sounds, and routines —
providing a thoughtful foundation for
becoming a confident family companion.
Our DDR Eastern German Shepherd lines add
depth, stability, and balance
to dogs families already love.
We also share weekly update videos
from Weeks 3 through 8,
allowing you to watch your puppy grow and
follow their development every step of the way.
When you reserve a
Southern Comfort German Shepherd puppy,
you’re receiving far more than “just a puppy.”
Each one comes from carefully selected
DDR Eastern German Shepherd parents and
is raised as a future family companion,
with health, structure, and temperament
always at the forefront.
Our breeding dogs are
health tested through
Embark genetic screening
and PennHIP evaluation
to help reduce the likelihood of
inherited conditions and
ensure strong structural foundations.
Every puppy leaves our home with a
Florida Veterinary Health Certificate
issued by a licensed veterinarian
and
must be examined by the buyer’s veterinarian
within 72 hours of pickup.
This examination confirms
the puppy’s health at the time of transfer
and activates the health guarantee.
If a licensed veterinarian identifies
a serious pre-existing health condition
during this initial examination,
the buyer may return the puppy
and choose either:
• A replacement puppy from a future litter, or
• A full refund of the purchase price
Once a puppy leaves our care,
we no longer have control over
the environment in which the puppy is raised.
Factors such as
diet, exercise, growth rate,
accidental injuries, and overall care
can influence a puppy’s development.
For this reason,
the health guarantee applies
only to conditions identified during
the buyer’s veterinary examination
within the first 72 hours.
This policy protects
both the buyer and the breeder
by clearly confirming
the puppy’s health
at the time of transfer
while recognizing
that long-term outcomes
are influenced
by factors outside the breeder’s control.
Our breeding dogs undergo responsible health screening
before being included in our program.
Embark Genetic Testing
Both parents are clear of known hereditary diseases,
including Degenerative Myelopathy (DM).
• PennHIP Evaluation
Both parents have been evaluated with
no evidence of hip dysplasia.
These evaluations help reduce the likelihood
of inherited conditions within the breeding program.
However,
long-term orthopedic development can also be influenced by
environmental factors such as diet, exercise, injury, and growth rate,
which are outside the breeder’s control once a puppy leaves our home.
We share many more German Shepherd puppy videos
on our YouTube channel and Facebook page,
including weekly updates, past litters,
and behind-the-scenes moments from our nursery
and outdoor play areas.

from tiny newborns into confident,

Like many veterinary hospitals, we use a neonatal incubator and oxygen support to help newborn German Shepherd puppies maintain warmth and stability during their first critical hours.
This gentle support helps puppies regulate temperature, breathe comfortably, and transition safely before moving into the whelping room with their mother. It’s one more way we ensure every puppy begins life in a calm, well-supported environment.
A professional-level start for every pup — our incubator and oxygen generator support newborn German Shepherd puppies in their most delicate first hours, ensuring warmth, stability, and healthy transitions.

From the moment our German Shepherd puppies are born, they are carefully dried, warmed, and guided to nurse in a calm, quiet whelping environment. Their first day is spent under close watch as we support both mom and puppies, making sure everyone is stable, comfortable, and thriving. These photos offer a rare look into those first precious hours of life at Southern Comfort Shepherds.

Every week from three to eight, we create a custom video update for each litter — giving families a clear, personal view of how their puppy is growing, playing, and developing. These photos are examples taken from inside those videos, showing the weekly progress, color changes, and early personality emerging in each puppy.
Families love being able to watch their puppy mature week by week, long before pickup day arrives.
A legacy in every puppy
Every Southern Comfort Shepherds puppy is raised with calm handling, steady guidance, and a lifetime of love in mind — so the legacy we begin in our nursery can continue in the hearts of the families who welcome them home.
